Slot Glossary
33 terms every slot player should know — explained with Bazooka Boyz examples where relevant. No marketing jargon.
Autoplay
A setting that spins the reels automatically for a set number of rounds. You pick how many spins and optional stop conditions (like stopping on a bonus trigger or when your balance drops below a threshold). Useful for grinding through base game spins without clicking every time.
Base Game
Regular gameplay before any bonus features trigger. Most of your spins happen here. In medium-high volatility slots like Bazooka Boyz, the base game pays moderate amounts while you wait for Free Spins or the random Bonus Round to kick in.
Bonus Buy (Feature Buy)
Lets you skip the base game and jump directly into a bonus round for a fixed cost. Bazooka Boyz offers two buy tiers — 80x for 10 Free Spins and 150x for 15 Free Spins. Not available in all jurisdictions; the UK bans it entirely.
Cascading Reels (Tumble)
After a win, winning symbols disappear and new ones fall into place. Bazooka Boyz doesn't use cascading reels — it sticks with traditional reel spins where every result resolves on a single drop.
Cluster Pays
A win mechanic where matching symbols form a connected group rather than lining up on a payline. Bazooka Boyz uses fixed paylines, not cluster pays — wins resolve along 20 predetermined lines from left to right.
Dead Spin
A spin that returns absolutely nothing — zero payout. In medium-high volatility slots like Bazooka Boyz, dead spins happen roughly 74% of the time. That's how the math model works: rare big hits balanced against frequent empty spins. Don't chase losses after a dry streak.
Feature Trigger Rate
How often a bonus feature activates, expressed as '1 in X spins.' Bazooka Boyz's Free Spins triggers roughly 1 in 175 base game spins. The random Bonus Round activates ~1 in 250 spins independently of any symbol combination. FBastards published these stats in the math sheet.
Free Spins
Bonus rounds triggered by landing 3+ Boombox Scatter symbols. Bazooka Boyz awards 8/10/12 Free Spins for 3/4/5 Scatters respectively. During the round, any Bazooka symbols that land become permanently sticky — locked in their expanded state for every remaining spin.
Hit Frequency
How often a slot lands any winning combination. Bazooka Boyz has a hit frequency of approximately 26% — roughly 1 in 4 spins pays something. That's typical for a 20-payline medium-high volatility slot. Most of those wins are small (1x-3x), with the bigger hits coming from Wilds and Bazooka expansions.
Max Win
The absolute maximum a slot can pay on a single spin, expressed as a multiplier of your bet. Bazooka Boyz caps at 5,000x. Once hit, the round ends immediately regardless of remaining features. The probability of hitting max win is roughly 1 in 2,000,000 spins.
Max Win Cap
The absolute cap on a single spin's payout. Once reached, the game stops the round immediately — even if you had remaining Free Spins with sticky Bazookas building. Bazooka Boyz caps at 5,000x. The round ends, your balance updates, and you're back to base game. This cap protects the casino's liability.
Megaways
A mechanic by Big Time Gaming where the number of symbols per reel changes each spin, creating up to 117,649 ways to win. Bazooka Boyz uses 20 fixed on a 5×3 grid — a fixed payline system, not Megaways.
Multiplier
A value that multiplies your win. Bazooka Boyz doesn't use multipliers in the base game. The random Bonus Round contains 2x and 3x multiplier picks that apply retroactively to your accumulated bonus winnings — pick a 3x after collecting 100x in cash and your total triples to 300x.
Paylines
Predefined lines across the reels where matching symbols must land to form a win. Bazooka Boyz has 20 fixed on a 5×3 grid. All 20 lines are always active — you can't reduce the count to lower your bet. Wins pay left to right starting from reel 1.
Paytable
The reference chart showing what each symbol pays for different combination lengths. In Bazooka Boyz, the Lead Singer pays 15x for five-of-a-kind on a single line, while card royals (A, K, Q, J) max out at 1.5x. Access the paytable through the in-game info menu.
RNG (Random Number Generator)
The algorithm that determines every spin outcome. Bazooka Boyz uses an RNG certified by iTech Labs to ensure fairness. Each spin is completely independent — previous results have zero influence on future ones. There's no such thing as a slot being 'due' for a feature.
RTP (Return to Player)
The theoretical percentage of wagered money a slot returns over millions of spins. Bazooka Boyz has an RTP of 95.50% in base play and 95.48% with the Free Spins buy active. That sits below the 96% industry standard — FBastards designed the math to push value into rare large hits rather than steady returns.
Scatter
A special symbol that triggers features regardless of position. In Bazooka Boyz, the Boombox Scatter triggers Free Spins when 3, 4, or 5 land anywhere on the grid (8, 10, or 12 spins respectively). Scatters don't pay direct cash — their value is the Free Spins they activate.
Session Variance
The gap between your actual results and the theoretical RTP. Bazooka Boyz has 95.50% RTP, but a 500-spin session at $1.00 stake can return anywhere from $277 to $678 within one standard deviation, or $77 to $878 within two. That's normal medium-high variance behavior.
Sticky Wild
A Wild symbol that stays in place for multiple spins instead of disappearing after one round. Bazooka Boyz doesn't have sticky Wilds — but it does have sticky Bazookas during Free Spins, which serve a similar function by locking expanded reels for the rest of the feature.
Volatility (Variance)
How a slot's payouts are distributed. Bazooka Boyz is rated Medium-High (4/5). Expect long base game stretches with mostly small wins, punctuated by occasional Bazooka expansions in the 50x-200x range and rare Free Spins sessions that can deliver 500x+ when sticky Bazookas chain together.
Ways to Win
An alternative to paylines where matching symbols on adjacent reels count as wins regardless of row position. A 5×3 grid with ways-to-win has 243 possible combinations. Bazooka Boyz uses 20 fixed — fixed paylines, not ways-to-win.
Wild
A symbol that substitutes for any regular symbol to complete winning combinations. In Bazooka Boyz, the Drum Wild appears on reels 2, 3, and 4 only. It substitutes for everything except the Boombox Scatter and the Bazooka. No multiplier, no expansion — pure substitution that quietly fills in winning lines.
Win Distribution
How a slot's total payouts are spread across different win sizes. Bazooka Boyz is top-heavy — roughly 40% of total RTP comes from Free Spins sessions and Bazooka expansions, while base game spins (74% of total play) deliver the remaining 60% in small frequent hits. That's the shape of a medium-high volatility math model.
Bazooka Symbol
The signature mid-tier symbol in Bazooka Boyz. When it lands on any reel, it expands vertically to fill all 3 rows of that reel. A single expanded Bazooka can complete 10-15 paylines simultaneously on the 20-line grid. Two expanded Bazookas on the same spin push payouts into the 200x-1,000x range. Three is approaching max win territory.
Boombox Scatter
The Free Spins trigger in Bazooka Boyz. The Boombox is the punk-rock sound system that activates the bonus round when 3, 4, or 5 land anywhere on the grid. Spin awards: 3 Boomboxes = 8 spins, 4 = 10 spins, 5 = 12 spins. Boomboxes don't pay direct cash and they don't appear during the Free Spins round itself — no retriggers.
Drum Wild
The substitution Wild in Bazooka Boyz, themed as a punk-rock drum kit. Appears on reels 2, 3, and 4 only — never on the outer reels. Substitutes for all paying symbols except the Boombox Scatter and the Bazooka. Standard frequency: ~1 in 5 spins for a single Drum Wild, ~1 in 250 for all three middle reels at once.
Expanding Symbols
A core mechanic in Bazooka Boyz where the Bazooka symbol stretches vertically to cover all 3 rows of its reel. Active in both base game and Free Spins, but Free Spins boost the Bazooka frequency by roughly 50%. Payouts for expanded Bazookas are calculated as if every position on that reel held the Bazooka — which is where most of the game's mid-range wins (50x-200x) come from.
FBastards
The Spanish slot studio behind Bazooka Boyz. FBastards is a smaller boutique provider known for music-themed slots and rebellious aesthetics. They build their math models with above-average volatility and below-average RTP (95.50% here vs the 96.0% industry baseline), trading consistent returns for rarer high-impact wins.
Pick-and-Click Bonus
The random secondary bonus round in Bazooka Boyz. Activates after any base game spin without warning — no scatter combination required. A grid of 12 instrument cases appears, and you pick them one at a time. Each case hides either a cash prize (5x-100x), an extra pick token, or a Collect symbol that ends the round and pays out your accumulated total. Average payout: ~40x.
Punk Rock Theme
The aesthetic foundation of Bazooka Boyz. The reels are populated by a four-piece punk band (Lead Singer, Guitarist, Drummer, Bassist) wielding bazookas, grenades, and amplifiers. The soundtrack runs distorted guitar riffs and aggressive drumming. Visual style leans into stencil graphics, tour-poster typography, and stage-light explosions on big wins.
Sticky Bazooka
The Free Spins-only mechanic that defines Bazooka Boyz's top wins. Any Bazooka symbol that lands during Free Spins locks in its expanded state for every remaining spin in the feature. Two Sticky Bazookas locked by spin 5 of a 12-spin round means the remaining 7 spins all play with two reels permanently covered — that's how 500x+ Free Spins sessions happen. The 5,000x max win requires this scenario to chain perfectly.
FBastards Math Model
The probability framework underlying Bazooka Boyz. Hit frequency around 26%, base RTP at 95.50%, max win probability ~1 in 2,000,000 spins, and Free Spins triggering once per 175 base spins on average. These numbers are certified by iTech Labs and published in the in-game info panel — they reflect long-term behavior across millions of spins, not your individual session.
